Eric braves the weather
Once again the weather gods played games with the Power Bar Fun Run. 6am weather check showed pouring rain and gale force winds. Ideal weather for a Fun Run - ha ha. By 7am the wind had abated slightly and the band of volunteers from NAB and the Victor Harbor Health Service set up in the rain. This was going to be a good one. By 7:30 am the rain had slowed to a trickle and wind had died and everyone was looking around quizzically.
By the time the registrations started the we were looking atmildly cool overcast weather and perfect conditions for a Fun Run and towards the endo of the event the Sun came out, raincoats came off and the we were convinced the weather gods were on our side. Just to illustrate the point,, immediately follwing a quick and efficient pack up of the event, in came the rain. Thankyou. Thankyou. Thankyou.
It was great to see sucha strong turn out with the weather as it was and again the times were good, with many improvements over last events times. Brad Cox lead the 5km group with a time of 19:05, and Peter Daish took out the Mens 10km event in 39:01. Great times guys well done.
In the womans it was Adona Cervantes who took honours for the 5km event in ????, while Joanna Cowan can in first for the 10km in a time of 42:25. Excellent times and great running.
